Our department is very sad to announce that we will not be having our Annual
Fourth of July Brisket plate Fundraiser and Parade due to food cost, rental cost
and the amount of donations during the event. The last few years for a week of
hard work we have not even broke even. We have tried to keep it going for a
annual community event but we have to think of the departments finance.
We have hard times in the past year with equipment cost and rising fuel prices.
We have to have fundraisers that will help the department. So in place of we
will be having a brisket sandwich fundraiser at Sweetwater’s Wal-Mart on
Friday July 4, 2008 starting at 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then moving to
Newman Park after 3:00 p.m. to sell sandwiches for the fireworks show.

If you live within a 15 minute drive from Roscoe and are at least 20 years of age, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Whether it's fighting fires, taking care of the sick or injured, driving/pump operations or helping out with fundraisers, we could use you! Joining is easy and simple. Just fill out the online application http://www.roscoevfd.com/Application.mht print it, sign it, and bring it to one of our business meetings. Once turned in, you will need to attend at least 2 more meetings/trainings and get two letters of recommendation from our members. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the fire station beginning at 6:00pm. Trainings are held every second and third Monday at 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
